About the marina
Cala Verde occupies the western arm of Palma's harbour, looking across the bay to the cathedral and the old town. Berths face the prevailing sea breeze, which keeps the pontoons cool through the afternoon.
Every visitor berth has lazy lines, water and metered power, and the marineros will help you in and take your lines. Diesel and petrol are on the fuel pontoon at the entrance, open from eight in the morning until the office closes.
The office books taxis and hire cars, and the supermarket on the promenade delivers provisions to the boat if you order before noon. The 75-tonne travel lift and the yard behind the fuel pontoon handle everything from antifouling to rigging checks, usually at a few days' notice outside the summer.
Evenings are the best part of a stay. The promenade fills with families walking along the water, and the tapas bars of Santa Catalina are fifteen minutes away on foot.
Getting here
- Call on VHF 9 at least an hour before arrival in July and August, so a berth can be ready.
- The entrance is lit and easy by day or night; watch for ferries using the commercial basin.
- From the airport, a taxi takes about twenty minutes.
