About the marina

A quiet river berth, ten minutes' walk from Hamble village

North Quay sits on the east bank of the Hamble, a mile up from Southampton Water. The river is sheltered in most winds, so visitors get a quiet night even when the Solent is lively.

Visitor berths are on A Pontoon and the outer hammerhead, with power and water at every berth. The village, its pubs and the little pink ferry to Warsash are a ten-minute walk along the foreshore.

The yard has a 40-tonne travel hoist and hard standing for short lifts, so a quick scrub or a prop check can be booked with the office.

Getting here

  • Call on VHF 80 as you pass the Hamble Point buoy and we will meet you on the pontoon.
  • Keep to the marked channel: the mud dries on either side at low water.
  • By road, the marina is signposted from junction 8 of the M27, with parking by the office.

Easy river berth, lovely team

Isla C. · Sailing yacht · Stayed September 2026 Verified stay

Called up on 80 and were met on the hammerhead and helped with lines. Pontoons are wide and solid, power and water at every berth.

Ten minutes' walk to the pubs in Hamble. We'll be back.
Reply from North Quay Marina

Thank you Isla, glad the hammerhead worked for you. See you next season.

Great spot, showers need work

Tom A. · Motor boat · Stayed September 2026 Verified stay

Sheltered and quiet even with a south-westerly blowing. Staff were excellent. The showers by the yard were tired and one was out of action.
Reply from North Quay Marina

Thanks Tom. The yard block showers were refitted in September.

Room for a cat

Priya N. · Catamaran · Stayed August 2026 Verified stay

Hard to find space for a 13 m catamaran on the Hamble in August, but they found us one on A pontoon with room to spare. Very clean facilities.
Reply from North Quay Marina

Thank you for the kind words. A pontoon has room for catamarans all season, so do ask for it again.

Good base for the Solent

Martin H. · Sailing yacht · Stayed July 2026 Verified stay

Well run and friendly. Not cheap in high season, but you get what you pay for. The tide runs hard on the outer berths, so ask for an inside one if you are short-handed.

Faultless weekend

Claire D. · Motor boat · Stayed June 2026 Verified stay

Booking request confirmed within the hour, clear instructions on arrival, and the office pointed us to a great dinner in the village.
